Take one ghastly dehumanised moron...

Shortly after he was elected, the Mayor said: "Only some ghastly dehumanised moron would want to get rid of the Routemaster."

In the manner of its death, the Routemaster shows how, in modern Britain, something which works and is loved can be replaced by something which fails and is hated, for reasons which are entirely unnecessary.

I like routemasters personally but you can't get a wheelchair on (or a kids buggy very easily) and creating a lowering step is impossible on a vehicle with a solid pan ground floor. In any case there would be nowhere to take said things once on board - they would simply block the exit for all passengers.

I wish there was a solution but I doubt there is.

um... well, there areb many buildings/ other forms of transport, like taxi cabs for example, that don't have elctric ramps but we haven't banned them yet. also, is the fact that the routemaster sat more and had a conductor to assist say, blind, passengers is an advantage? i'm sorry mr b but i think it's just pc for pc.....
